Do I need a foundation under my 10'X14' shed if I have a floor kit with 3/4" plywood as the floor?

I just purchased an Arrow Lindale 10′X14′ metal storage shed with a floor kit and 3/4" plywood for the flooring. Looking at it as I build it, it looks like I should have something to seperate the metal flooring from the earth. I don’t want to have rusting in 3-5 years on the floor kit because of moisture from rain or whatever. Any suggestions or ideas would be helpful. Of course the ground probably wont get all that wet directly under the shed but I don’t want the shed to sink into the dirt because the shed is directly on the ground.

how is the weather and soil in your state?

for those who grow vegetables or have an orchard for your own home. I’m searching for a good area to build a small self sufficient farm for my family. so I would like a survey.
what state or area of the state do you live in?
what natural disasters do you see often (flood, tornado, wildfire…)?
what sort of soil do you have (sandy, clay, rocky…)?
can you grow food year round where you live? (of course a greenhouse may be necessary)

as an example… I live in Oregon west of the cascades we have valley land where we live. the soil is black and excellent for growing. a green house is good to have for summer vegetable to grow during the winter. the worst disasters we see is a huge amount of rain and maybe a mild wildfire. nothing major happening here yearly. p.s. we don’t grow melons very well. not enough long hot days. :)

thanks for helping everybody.
I love Oregon but I’m trying to find less expensive land.

Do Arrow Building Storage Sheds make noise when it rains?

I am looking into buying one of their spacesaver sheds and since it is made of Baked-on enamel finish on galvanized steel for longer life and rust resistance I was wondering it when it rains – Does it make alot of noise when the rain hits it?? I am wondering if it is better to go with a hard plastic shed instead but, I do prefer the Arrow Shed. Thank you.

A Tribute to Project Shed

Dad wanted to build a shed in his backyard and I wanted to help. I figured this project would be a great opportunity to work side by side with my Dad. This project sounded more intriguing when you add Dad’s specifications, no kit, no nails…

According to my Dad’s plans the shed was to be 10 feet wide by 12 feet deep and 12 feet high at the peak. The barn style roof of the shed was to match the look of the barn style front of his house. The project was to be built in just 2 weeks.
