Backyard Gazebos are Making a Comeback With Easy to Build Kits

Backyard gazebos are making a come back, like any other accessory they come in just about every imaginable size and purpose. You can get a gazebo kit designed to fit two people and tuck it into a backyard corner, or you can buy a gazebo kit that fits 20 and attaches to your deck or patio. Gazebo kits are available as traditional gazebo, spa gazebo, patio gazebo, and many other styles. Don’t feel like you have to sacrifice taste or quality when assembling a gazebo yourself. Just remember when adding a gazebo to your yard, is to place it in the most ideal location, the location that makes it the most friendly for you. Gazebos then, are, depending on the size, space and view from your garden, an excellent addition to any home.

Materials That Gazebo Kits Come In.

Gazebo kits are available in a wide variety of materials, including different types of woods, metals, and even polymers such as vinyl. Wood gazebos usually come in pine, cedar, and American redwood. Pine is the softest and turns yellow with age. Cedar, being very solid and turning gray with age, is the most common gazebo wood. American redwood is the hardest, darkest gazebo construction wood. You can also buy aluminum, wrought iron, or PVC vinyl gazebo kits. On the downside, these materials are heavier and more expensive than lumber, and they don’t blend as well with nature.

Assembling A Gazebo

Some gazebos are easier to erect than others these days, however, you can find many gazebo kits that come with easy to follow instructions. Get the family or friends involved and make a weekend out of it. Some kits will only take a few hours to erect and some may take the hole weekend.

Why not treat yourself to a backyard gazebo this summer. Add some value to your home.

Garden Gazebos For The Full Garden Experience

Garden Gazebos For The Full Garden Experience

Imagine a beautiful garden, full of flowers and plant life kept perfectly healthy in its own carefully regulated ecosystem. Maybe there are garden ponds on each side of a bridge, or if the gardener has gone to the full extreme, maybe even koi ponds, filled with some of the most beautiful fish in existence.. But something is missing. What is that missing link that could tie everything together? For many avid garden enthusiasts, a truly remarkable garden is not complete without a garden gazebo.

For many hard working garden architects, a garden gazebo is the perfect way to accent your garden. Imagine being able to walk along a path between the koi pond and the bushel of flowers exploding in a bright rainbow array of colors. Maybe some more hedges, maybe some flowers and the appropriate cypress tree for shade, and then having a gazebo sitting right there, calling for you to sit down and rest, to enjoy everything around you without putting any more pressure on your feet. Its shade will be a welcome additional comfort, and its architecture will add that special touch to your garden, striking the balance between nature and humanity, a balance that is rarely caught with any type of success, making it all the more striking in that special garden. No matter what the environment of your garden, there is a garden gazebo out there just waiting to be the crowning touch to an otherwise almost perfect back yard garden.

In deciding on the right garden gazebo for you, one of the first choices that will have to be made is to choose your building material from wood, metal, or vinyl. Metal gives a long guarantee of sturdiness, though depending on the garden it can feel out of place and actually clash a little with the otherwise peaceful flow that you meant for the garden to create. Vinyl has a variety of plusses and minuses, and for vinyl gazebos there are a wide array of acceptable options, it just really depends on the specific gazebo in that case. Wood is by far and away the most common choice, and for very good reason: it goes with any natural environment. What type of wood is available generally depends on who you are buying from and what design you choose. Almost every dealer will at least have pine and cedar. Pine is the softest wood and complements surrounding evergreens for obvious reasons. Cedar is higher in overall sturdiness, is less prone to rot, and ages to a gray-brown. This is generally the most popular choice because of its combination of sturdiness and appearance.

A garden gazebo is not a new idea. Having gazebos or gazebo like structures in a garden has been seen for centuries. The elegance of a garden gazebo, and the ability to sit comfortably in the middle of a beautiful garden, made both extremely popular. Whether for showing off to other aristocracy, or for a young poet trying to find her muse, the garden gazebos were, and are, very popular, and for good reason. If you have an amazing garden, look at a garden gazebo. There is no better way to enjoy a beautiful garden than from within.

The Lure of Garden Gazebos

The Lure of Garden Gazebos

There was a time when garden gazebos were only available to those who could afford to spend an extravagant amount of money. Gazebos have not only become affordable, the styles are varied and widely available. No matter what size area you have to devote to your gazebo building project, you can find the perfect size and style gazebo that will fit your personal landscape needs.

Before selecting the garden gazebo that is right for you, there are a few things you must consider carefully. What is the main purpose of your gazebo? Will you be using it for a sheltered hot tub or spa area? Garden gazebos can make a lavish centerpiece for a specialty garden, an outdoor cooking or grilling area or just a quiet place to sit with a cup of coffee and watch birds, or simply relax and view your garden. For centuries, gazebos have been used as viewing shelters, teahouses, pavilions, pagodas, summerhouses or kiosks.

You can decide what the design of your garden gazebo will be like. If you enjoy cooking outside and do a lot of outdoor entertaining, you may want to install a personalized fire pit or brick barbecue. If you decide to place your garden gazebo near your pool area, why not consider special lighting, an entertainment center or privacy screening, adding doors or windows and turning your gazebo into a guest changing area or pool house.

Once you choose the site of your gazebo the fun begins. Will you add electricity and plumbing? How about ornamental fountains or adding a fish pond or birdbath? Before choosing your spot be sure and keep in mind the seasonal advantages and drawbacks for the area you have chosen. Do you have high winds in the summer, or heavy amounts of snow in winter? What type of landscaping will you choose ? Will you use plants, vines, shrubs or trees to accent the area? All of these things need to be considered before choosing your gazebo.

Gazebos can be constructed from many types of natural cedars and pines and there are many styles available using vinyl or other synthetic materials. The styles are varied and no matter if you choose an old fashioned Victorian style, a gazebo with Greek or Asian influence or a simple rustic country style, be sure and consider the unlimited availability of accessories for your gazebo. You get to pick and choose what type of space to create, choosing your favorite roof design, decks, specialized lighting, stairs, railing, doors or gates, built in or freestanding furniture, outdoor cooking appliances, arbors, trellises, ponds, wishing wells, footbridges, wooden arbors, even personalized stone pathways.

Because of the popularity of gazebos, you are now able to personalize and design your garden gazebo in any way you desire. Whether buying a garden gazebo do-it-yourself kit or having your gazebo constructed by a professional, be sure and use your imagination when planning your personal garden gazebo get-a-way. Also keep in mind if you have enough space in your garden area, why limit yourself to just one?

Through our website, we offer a wide range of free greenhouse plans. Also offered on our website are free gazebo plans and compost bin plans.
