Hot Rod Shed extension
Used up all the scrap I had left over after moving the rat rod garage. The 16′ hemlock beams that I drug the garage on, made the roof beams, and a lot of the beams that are holding it up are from the old sills that came out of the original old garage. Makes a good place to get my hotrod project in out of the weather. Maybe now I can get some work done on it.

Here in Hawaii you can conncet the garage to the house & go under the `Ohana dwelling code. That’s what my shop is, & it’s connected to my mothers house with a pergola…I’ll be living it’s 2-bedroom apartment.

there’s the universal building code but local codes vary. if you want to do something contrary to code like to keep in harmony with older styles of construction and the inspectors have a fit with it just hire an engineer to certify your plans as structural before you build it

Had to get a permit. I think they do that mostly for taxes and to make sure you don’t build over someone else’s property lines.. I made it strong because of all the snow we get up here, and the shallow roof..

Yep I know. You can tell in the videos, I could afford to miss a meal or two. I changed the wheels and tires on the back of the hotrod today and just pushed it around in the garage. Gave me a thrill. Go figure.

I got pretty obsessive whilst workin on that Nash. just couldnt wait to have it roll under its own power! workin on them old rigs is good therapy even if you dont need any! ha! its great to document the progress but as you know.. the vids dont really show half the work that goes between clips. its a hoot tho. I’d almost rather work on old cars and play guitar than eat! well.. almost………
