John, Bethan and I went to Walton-on-the-Naze for the day in July. Despite having grown up in Suffolk and Walton-on-the-Naze being just down the coast, I’d never been there before. We were all pleasantly surprised when we arrived. It’s a great little seaside town – with more a Southwold atmosphere than a Clacton one. There’s a fantastic half mile pier too.

I love beach huts – well taking photos of them anyway. They represent the epitome of the British holiday experience. In reality I’d far rather be sitting in the pool bar in a tropical paradise rather than making tea on a camping stove in a wooden box that resembles a garden shed whilst sheltering from an icy wind. Beach huts were obviously popular in Walton-on-the-Naze – there were four tiers of them!
